We owe you some updates what has happened this winter non-winter at Monimail.
Lets start with the Snowdrop reminder: join us THIS SUNDAY (FEB 16th from 10 to 14:00) to celebrate the return of the greens in the woods. First wild garlic is coming up so bring some bags if you want to forage. Tea and coffee for purchase as usual.
The Green Library has been for many years available to Monimail Tower visitors. Unfortunately due to new fire safety regs, it can no longer be open to the public in the Tower. We therefore started a BOOK SALE in the Gatehouse. Come and see what we have, maybe one of these books finds a new home at your place? Lots of books on craft, sustainability and nature.
We spent one lovely sunny Saturday cleaning the ‘garden room’ in the main hut. It made a massive difference. And of course we celebrated with coffee and biscuits. We need more hands for days like this so if you want to join us next time, please drop us an email.
We also continue working on the terrace. One day we hope for it to become a new spot for the events and camping. Crispin, Freddie and Magda cut down all hard bushes and tried to level the terrace and the orchard. We hope to finish this work during the equinox bonfire day which is our usual spring cleaning volunteer day. So keep an eye on the date for the bonfire, most likely Saturday 22.03.
